Learning Activities
Learning Activities in Bee-Hive School
Our classroom arrangements are flexible, which can be adjusted to lesson plans and activities, such as large groups for singing, storytelling and smaller groups for activities like drawing, blocks and for individual play.
Our classroom has learning/activity ‘corners’, such as creative corner, book corner, game corner, so that the children can play according to their interests and choose their activity.
Learning activities
The learning activities at Bee-Hive school are tuned for cognitive development, social skills, learning to play with objects, learn colours, language, numbers develop creativity by drawing, painting and so on.
Some of the indoor material we have is as follows:
- Blocks for constructive play
- Material for imaginative play /Dramatic play material – dolls, puppet, masks, kitchen sets, mirrors, old spectacle frames, purses, old shoes, weighting scales, clock etc
- Material to develop Language skills
- Material to develop cognitive skills
- Art material for creative expression
- Indigenous play materials and teacher made learning materials using available resources
- Board Games
Social activities
Children are encouraged to interact with each other and play games, sing along, dance and so on. During the break they have time to engage in free play and chatter.
Creative Activities
Drawing, colouring, playing with puzzles, playing games are very much a part of weekly activities at school. We try to increase creativity and imagination in the children.
