Independence
BeeHive English Medium School, run by SEWAC-B, offers Nursery, Lower Montessori, and Upper Montessori classes. It has now an enrolment of 120 students. BeeHive School provides quality preschool education to children of disadvantaged families of the local community.
The school was started in 2001 for children around the Guddadahalli area, following the Montessori method of teaching. Over time it has grown and approximately 100 to 120 children enroll every year across classes. Four teachers and two helpers supervise the activities. The medium of instruction is English.
BeeHive children are happy, healthy, well-adjusted, bright and disciplined kids.
Learning at BeeHive School happens with learning materials, activities, rhymes, singing, art and craft. The attention by the teachers encourages the children and unleashes their creativity.
Such activities are essential for the holistic development of our children. Children are taught the importance of healthy living and clean environment.
National holidays are celebrated by the school. Sports day and Annual Day are organized every year. Festivals such as Diwali, Janamashtami, Eid, Christmas etc are celebrated with great excitement. The children look forward to school organized parties, outings, and picnics with great anticipation.
Respect for all faiths, religions and cultures are an important part of their learning. We solicit and are rewarded by very involved and active parents’ support. All school children undergo regular medical and dental check-up by registered doctors. Yoga is taught and practiced in school as an integral part of the children’s physical fitness schedule.
Educating your child at SEWAC-B will lead to your child learning at an individual pace, fostering independence. The Montessori Method that we follow also encourages empathy, a passion for social justice, and a joy in lifelong learning.

Freedom within Limits
At BeeHive school, the Montessori teaching method offers children the freedom to learn at their own pace.
Children very rarely want to sit still, and the younger children seem to always be in motion. Rather than repress this need, this method embraces it and offers an environment where children feel in control of their bodies and choices. The BEE-HIVE school allows children freedom to learn within a safe space. Each child’s individuality is catered for through the prepared environment and work of dedicated teachers.
The focus is on educating the whole child. This means that in addition to developing academic skills, children are also engaged physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially.
An encouraging environment and excellent learning opportunities have a lasting impact on the lives of young children aged three to six years
Our teaching methodology follows the Montessori method of teaching.
The Montessori teaching method is an educational method centered around the belief that every child possesses the ability and skill needed to reach their full potential. This is done through an individualized, hands-on classroom experience.
Children learn how to interact with their environment and learn key educational concepts at the same time. The Montessori teaching method mimics everyday life and aims to teach children through real-life experiences and multi-sensory materials.
Teaching takes place in a prepared environment, which means an environment that is designed for a child’s freedom of movement and choice. The Montessori classroom and lessons are tailored around each child’s unique interests and abilities.
Montessori education aims to develop the whole child. This means developing the social, academic, emotional, and physical aspects of the child. Dr. Maria Montessori believed that children do their best learning when more than one sense is engaged.
The Montessori teaching method recognizes that children develop and learn at their own pace, so the curriculum is designed for just that. Children do not simply memorize and regurgitate information. Instead, children learn through understanding the how and why of a subject.
Every aspect of the Montessori teaching method has been designed to help each child reach their full potential.
We have an adequate and varied supply of play equipment and materials which is developmentally and age appropriate. Through our teaching curriculum, we take care that the materials promote gross and fine motor development and help the child to discover and explore including constructing and reconstructing. It promotes sensory exploration and social interaction along with creative expressions through arts, painting, etc.
We consider that parental participation and involvement is equally important and our early childhood staff tries to form a positive partnership with parents on an ongoing basis. This is done through frequent and positive school to home communication in the form of:
We actively seek parental support by showing them how they can work with their children at home to reinforce the learning experiences that take place at the school. This encourages them to become actively involved in their child’s care and learning.
