SEWAC-B, in partnership with Nirupa Reading Foundation, started a library in 2015 in the premises for children who do not otherwise have easy access to books. The idea is to inculcate the love of reading from an early age.
Happy library
-
The books are colour coded to help children graduate from one level of books to another.

-
The librarian keeps track of every child’s progress. New books are added on a regular basis.
-
Events are organized to make reading fun and exciting. Children from the community responded very enthusiastically to this programme and attend the library regularly.
-
Some of the children are helped to do their school homework while they are there.
-
Volunteers come in for story-telling sessions or to hold activities like quiz and reading related games.

The Happy Library runs every week day from 4:30PM to 6:00PM under the supervision of a trained librarian.
